Tradition, heritage and contemporary creation

POPULAR CULTURE is a project supporting research into, creation from and reinterpretation of the popular culture of the Illes Balears through a contemporary lens. Through grants and artistic residencies, it offers artists of any discipline a space to develop projects connecting heritage, territory and innovation.

Through research, experimentation and artistic production, the project encourages new readings of popular traditions, turning them into a source of inspiration for cultural work with social impact and international reach.

GALEJAR

"Galejar", by Pau Pascual, is the project selected for the Popular Culture creation grant and artist residency. A proposal that researches and reinterprets Mallorcan musical heritage through contemporary creation.
